Speno Rail Maintenance Australia is a world leader in rail grinding technology, machine production, and the service provider of choice for all rail maintenance, rectification, and diagnostics. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Full-Time Planner to support our operational and possession planning activities for our Perth Operations. This role is critical in ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of complex rail programs through effective planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement. The Role: The Planning Coordinator plays a central role in coordinating all planning activities that support operational and possession planning. This includes developing scopes of work, managing possession requests, validating critical risks, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex schedules in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Produce grinding and rail‑testing plans in line with required systems, cycles, shutdowns, and re‑railing schedules, ensuring plans are issued at least six weeks in advance. Collect, validate, and integrate data from stakeholders and project managers to produce accurate and efficient schedules. Distribute plans to relevant supervisors and team leaders and support continuous improvement through regular liaison on execution issues. Request all required track possessions during weekly Track Possession Scheduling meetings. Ensure all planning activities meet required standards, protocols, and organisational procedures. Participate in planning meetings and present scopes of work, schedules, and insights. Analyse daily machine utilisation, breakdowns, and lost time, producing monthly reports on KPI performance. Communicate regularly with clients, schedulers, planners, and coordinators regarding machine program planning. Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to Scheduling Commitment, KPI, and Planning Team meetings. Ensure safe execution of work in compliance with client HSEQ standards and company policies. Maintain clear, accurate planning records and documentation. Requirements: Experience in rail possession planning or similar operational planning roles. Proficiency with scheduling tools and strong Microsoft Office capability. Ability to interpret technical documentation and manage complex schedules. Strong organisational, time‑management, and stakeholder engagement skills. High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Knowledge of Quality Assurance systems is an advantage. Why Join Us?
